How do I wash my jeans?

For long lasting denim, we recommend that you wash jeans inside out in cold water using a mild detergent. Because dark dye colours tend to run, it is recommended during the first few washes, jeans be separated from heat as much as possible, as the lycra will lose its elasticity. Pants should be laid flat to dry if you do not want significant shrinkage. Otherwise, jeans can be tumble dried on a low setting.

How much will my jeans stretch after wash & wear?

In general, denim stretches out in the waistline, hip and thigh areas of the jean. It is recommended that you buy your jeans fitted rather than loose, as permanent waistline shrinkage is a myth. Please ask one of our salespeople before purchasing jeans, as the degree of strecthing varies from brand to brand.

What is your return policy?

We offer in-store credit or exchanges within 14 days of purchase. An original receipt or proof of purchase must shown in order to qualify for a return. We do not give refunds and all sale items are FINAL SALE.

What ranges of sizes do you carry?

Size ranges vary from brand to brand. Alterations can be done in-house to the leg and waistline to ensure the perfect fit. Long inseam (36 inch length) are offered in select men’s and women’s brands. Contact us for further details.

How fast can alterations be completed?

Completion dates depend greatly on the volume of items being handled by our alteration department on a given day. Same day service is available if this volume is small. Garments must be freshly laundered before being brought in for service. Proof of purchase is also required. We only alter clothing that has been purchased at Over the Rainbow.

How long can an item be put on hold?

All items can be put on hold for a maximum of 2 days.

Can you do special orders on “out of stock” products?

We do not do special orders, but we do requests through our Request Book. We will only contact you should we get another shipment of the item in the store. We do our best to fulfill these requests, but there is no way of estimating when or if an item will arrives. Please keep checking back with the store for your request updates.

Do you sell gift certificates?

We sell gift certificates in all denominations. They are available at front cash and can be used towards the purchase of any item at Over the Rainbow. It is a great gift idea if you are having trouble deciding what to get that special person.
