Feature Friday: John & Jenn x Blue Industry

John & Jenn

John & Jenn is a NEW collection from the designers of Line Knitwear, John Muscat and Jennifer Wells. Line Knitwear is a brand staple at Over the Rainbow, so we were excited to add on these amazing pieces to our women’s fashion offering.

“John & Jenn takes its styling cues from proven ‘go-to’ pieces from Line’s treasure trove of bestselling bodies and amps them up with a playful twist with the use of colour, embellishment, texture and shape.The colourful and eye catching palette of deep turquoise and teals, soft corals and tangerines, hot and bubblegum pinks, nautical navy and white combos along with sandy beiges and crisp whites, give the collection an inherent beachside feel.” (John and Jenn Press Release, Spring/Summer 2012)

We think that these pieces are a great addition to the current trend of pastels, neons and printed denim. A good transition from the typical black and grey Winter palettes to a brighter and colorful Spring wardrobe. Below are the styles now available in store:

Blue Industry

Blue Industry is a new line  of men’s dress shirt line from Europe that we have started to carry at the store. These shirts are crisp for a business-casual attire, but also stylish for the night out at a bar/lounge. :

“Blue Industry was established four years ago by the company LEBELZ. The objective was to create a collection of menswear that could accommodate both casual and more formal occasions and tastes. Each piece of the Blue Industry collection is carefully designed and it is this attention to detail which have set this brand apart.  Blue Industry stands for love and passion for the product.” (Blue Industry, 2012)

At Over the Rainbow, we carry an assortment of mens button-down dress shirts to pair with a nice slim fit denim or chino, so adding the Blue Industry line to the mix was a no-brainer.

What stands out with this new line is the combination of classic cuts and patterns with modern details. For example, looking closely at each cuff you can see the additional trimmings such as metal button clasps, contrast piping and even elbow patches on certain styles.
