In the Press: OTR x The Marilyn Denis Show x Fall Denim

Fashion expert Alexis Honce, who is also Marilyn Denis’ stylist, paid a visit to our store this month to feature new Fall Denim on the show.

Marilyn Denis always takes it up a notch and helps you find jeans that fit your figure, because as much as you want to try wearing the new metallic jean trend, it might not be for everyone.

Fall 2012 denim is a contrast to the neon and bright floral prints of Spring 2012 denim. To update your wardrobe for the upcoming cooler months, stick to muted and jewel-tone palettes like purples, greens and mustard. Prints are still hot right now, but this time they have a bit more of a darker, almost romantic sense to them. For example, our J Brand Brocade Jeans $299 have an old-world baroque feel to them. According to Alexis, pear-shaped women can rock these jeans as the tone-on-tone velvet denim pattern is subtle enough so that it’s not too bold, and the higher waist and skinny leg defines their shape.

Pear shaped should find pairs that are Mid to High Rise with a Straight leg to flatter their curves. The 7 for All Mankind Mid-Rise Straight Leg in Mountain Rain $250 as shown in the stills above is a good example of what to look for.

For apple shaped women, they should look for jeans with a high-rise and skinny leg, like the Citizens of Humanity Rocket High Rise in Crisp $259.
